Our next academic seminar will host two intersting talks: 

"Lightweight materials for renewable ocean wave energy" by Dr. Ross Harnden, WEC-HULL

Abstract: 
Dr. Harnden works at CorPower Ocean, a Stockholm-based company developing devices to harvest energy from ocean waves. The presentation will cover industrial research investigating materials/processes for their Wave Energy Converter (WEC). These include laser-cladded metals, as well as filament wound composites with a focus on the challenges of the harsh ocean environment and reducing cost to offer competitive energy generation (EUR/kWh).

"Diab Light Weight Innovations - Through Sandwich Technology" by Peter Norlin and Carl-Johan Lindholm, Diab

Abstract: 
Presentation of Diab and how the company worked with Light Weight Innovations since the start in year 1950. Starting with examples of some innovations that have been important for the growth of the company followed by short presentations of ongoing development projects.
