LIGHTer Academy & LIGHTer PhD Network regularly organises seminars on various topics in lightweight research. The researchers within the network take turns hosting the event. 
We will listen to Tommy Grankäll from KTH Royal Insitute of Technology who will talk about “Composite cure tools, the ultimate solution or a nightmare?”

Abstract:
All high-end composite parts require a shape defining tool during manufacturing. This tool, the mould, has a great impact on both the laminate quality, shape fidelity and manufacturing cost. Selecting the right type of tool design and tool material is very important. Critical aspects for single-sided tools, for prepreg composite parts, will be discussed.

Rickard Östlund from Gestamp Hardtech will also participate and talk about sheet metal forming and its application in lightweight construction.
