SIP LIGHTer

SIP LIGHTer is a strategic innovation programme (SIP) focusing on lightweight solutions. SIPs are initiatives launched by the Swedish government to encourage the private sector, public sector and academia to collaborate on finding sustainable solutions to global challenges and boosting Sweden’s competitiveness.

Vinnova (the Swedish Innovation Agency), the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas (the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development) fund a total of 17 SIPs. SIP LIGHTer launched in October 2013 and is being implemented in three stages. Stage 1 ran from 2013 to 2016, Stage 2 from 2017 to 2019, and Stage 3 runs through 2022.
